I’m so excited to share this collaboration with you! As I’ve shared recently, I’ve been trying to make a conscious effort this year to invest in clothing that is sustainable and ethically made. It just feels better when you know where your clothes came from, how they were made and what they are made from.

Bel Kazan has worked with the same Balinese team for 15 years and uses a cut to order business model, in which they make sample sets of garments each season to then start production. This is not the fast and furious fast fashion model where clothing is made in bulk quantities. As a result, they are only producing clothing after an order has been placed — so extra fabric is not being used, therefore waste is significantly reduced. Belinda, the founder, has such a love for Bali and embraces ‘east meets west’ through her textile prints as seen in the colors, textures and patterns used in the line. Most of the prints use a technique called hand printing (screen printing) or Batik. All materials used within the Bel Kazan line are consciously chosen to reduce the impact on the environment.

I received one of their dusters (not currently featured online, but you can shop others here) and instantly fell in love with the bold pattern (kind of like a modern day and way cooler version of tie dye) and moody color palette. I love the length of this duster for fall and winter — it’s also great for layering because it’s on the thicker side so it helps keep me warm on chillier days.
