It's officially the long weekend and I couldn't be more excited and in need of some R&R! Work has been keeping me particularly busy lately and when I'm not working I'm freelancing, blogging and attempting to do some spring cleaning! But this weekend it's all about RELAXATION and getting some much-needed sunshine on my pale skin.
Did I also mention it's going to be in the 80's here in Seattle?! Needless to say, I'll be outside all weekend long. That means it's time to break out the summer wardrobe -- goodbye chunky knits and sweaters! It's (almost) summer time!
My go-to outfit of the weekend will most definitely be this 'Key To Success' Ruby Claire Boutique romper. Rompers are the perfect weekend garment because you do not have to low-key fret when there's a summer breeze like you do when you are wearing a summer dress. Not to mention, the style of this romper is ultra feminine in fit and detail. Although I've been throwing everyone a curve ball lately with pops of color and pattern in my wardrobe, one can never go wrong with a black romper -- in fact, it's one of my recommended closet must-haves.
From the key hole neck to the dotted detailing in the front to the flouncy edges of the shorts -- it's the perfect combination of feminine casual. The waist is gathered but loose so it's honestly perfect for all body types!
I paired my romper with the most realistic shoes I'll wear with it and that's these white ankle strap sandals from Target. They go with everything! They are most definitely my shoe of choice when I'm out and about or doing a lot of walking.
Accessorizing this look was probably way too much fun. I wanted to give this look a little punch of color so I decided to wear my new Katie Kime hot pink silk tassel earrings. How fun are these statement earrings!? These silk earrings can be dressed down or dressed up depending on where you are going and what sort of outfit you are wearing. For a more monochromatic look like this, they really kick my outfit up a notch and will definitely be in rotation all summer long.
To top off my look (quite literally) I'm wearing my Ruby Claire Boutique 'Do Not Disturb' sun hat. I just couldn't resist this hat for summer. The perfect hat for wearing when you're going wine tasting, lounging on the beach, heading to the farmers market OR when you're simply trying to soak up a long weekend. The witty saying on the back was the selling point for me aside from the style.
Now it's time to get this weekend started! Unplug, dress up and get outside in the 80-degree heat wave we're having here in Seattle! Memorial Day Weekend Mode: ON.
