Feminine Pops of Color

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day with your special someone! I love a day that gives me a good excuse to dress up and feel all girly. My third look of my POP OF COLOR photo and style collaboration series (photos courtesy of my lovely friend and Seattle-based photographer, Kamrin Dishman of KNDM Co. Photo) shows off how to rock a feminine and floral-inspired look during the winter in the Pacific Northwest.

The key to my feminine winter look is combining pattern, color and statement accessories. My look was focused on pulling out accent colors from my dark floral skirt with its spring color palette: blues, pinks, grey and purples. I also wanted to focus on details in my look; my blue sweater is one of my favorites because of its detailing on the sleeves and buttons going up along the back -- I love subtle yet unique feminine touches to a basic pullover sweater. I also paired my outfit with my bold hot pink Kate Spade crossbody purse; complimenting the pinks from my floral skirt and magenta lipstick, giving my look an extra girly kick. To top off my outfit with a little feminine sparkle, I wore my blue statement necklace with neon yellow accent beads which is also an accent color in my floral skirt. Lastly, I wore my favorite comfortable black ankle boots that can dress up any outfit and are a great way to neutralize my colorful outfit.

Also, if you find yourself in the Tacoma, Washington area be sure to stop by the Wright Park botanical conservatory -- a beautiful location to stroll, take photos and explore and observe the lovely plant life. I couldn't get enough of the pink garden flowers in the bushes outlining the park. A little reminder that spring is near!
