Mens Style: Trend Breakdown

As winter comes to Washington in full force, I'm not only loving the winter style trends for women but I am also loving the mens digs that are trending lately. After all, this is the season of layering and playing with minimalism, color, pattern and material.

As a web designer at Nordstrom, I've been able to check out some of the recent trending looks in our stores and I have to say, these style staples are rather reasonable in price and make for great layering pieces in outfits across the board. Take a look at my favorite mens trends // inspiration and shop some of my favorite current products at Nordstrom for men by clicking on the product link.

You really can never go wrong with black. It's an attractive color on any hair color and skin tone and is great in any form of clothing style. Whether it be shoes, pants, tops or accessories, it is a great color for layering or wearing head to toe look.

Denim, the timeless classic mens' staple. I'm loving the that denim comes in so many forms and can make a statement through the wash, pattern and what you pair it with. Denim can be worn during any season and can be dressed up and dressed down. A must-have mens' staple.

Speaking of neutrals, one of my favorite looks that is effortless and attractive for men to sport is any item in a shade of grey. Currently, heather grey is trending from sweaters to scarves to business attire. Clothing in this color also works great when it comes to layering and for statement pieces -- whether your look is more active/casual or dressy.

Brown. A color that is often overlooked or looked down upon but is currently one of the most popular trends when it comes to mens' style. Primarily brown in the form of leather and outerwear is a great way to show off the color and it really can be used to dress up or down an outfit. Brown is also a must-have when it comes to accessories: shoes, briefcases, hats and watches.
