My favorite summer refreshers
I can totally get behind this 80 to 90 degree weather in Seattle! I'll be spending the majority of my time outdoors soaking in the sunshine, playing in the water and getting some R&R time in on the patio. Because (warm) sunshine tends to be a rarity here in Seattle, it's important to stay hydrated while soaking in the much-needed Vitamin D.
My go-to summer beverage that keeps me hydrated is without question sparkling water. I bring it with me everywhere, pack it as part of my weekly meal preps and love mixing it with rosΓ© in the summer time to create a delicious and refreshing summer cocktail. My sparkling water of choice would have to be Spindrift. I have yet to try a flavor I dislike and the prices are beyond reasonable. I was introduced to Spindrift when I was on the lookout for sparkling water at Trader Joe's - since it's the only place I shop! What attracted me to Spindrift is the fact it's the only line of sparkling water that uses REAL FRUIT! I love knowing that this beverage I'm so regularly consuming does not consist of artificial flavors. Instead, I'm consuming a variety of real fruits to make up their amazing flavor selection: Raspberry Lime, Grapefruit (one of my favorites), Blackberry, Lemon (a classic), Cucumber, Orange Mango and Strawberry (a new flavor and I'm obsessed!)
Sparkling water has a little kick to it with the after taste fizz which I enjoy. It tastes great on its own or blended into cocktails or other refreshing summer beverages.
1. Tropical Punch:
Spindrift Orange Mango mixed with POG or orange juice. It's incredibly refreshing and great for brunch.
2. Citrus Kick:
Spindrift Grapefruit and Lemon mixed with a white wine blend or dry riesling. I also add sliced lemons, lime and grapefruit to the mix and let that sit for extra flavoring. Serve in a punch bowl with edible flowers for display (and Instagram worthy photo-purposes).
3. Sparkling lemonade:
Mix Strawberry Spindrift and Lemon Spindrift with Pink Lemonade and serve chilled. It's tart and the perfect summer beverage!
4. Frozen fizz:
I'll pour a variety of Spindrift flavors into a plastic cup and add a complimentary juice of choice and throw it in my freezer for two hours so it freezes into a slushy. Using a spoon, I eat the delicious frozen juice pops!
5. Moscow Mules
Prepare your Moscow Mules as you would but apply several teaspoons of Spindrift (a flavor of your choice - I tend to like Blackberry, Raspberry Lime or Cucumber) to your beverage. It gives your mule a fizzy and flavored kick.
