My closet is filled to the brim with dresses: midi’s, maxi’s, mini’s, body-con’s, flowy, backless, strapless, casual, formal…you name it, I’ve tried it/got it. Dresses are a feminine favorite of mine because they are suitable for just about any and every occasion depending on the style. It wasn’t until I discovered the MAUDE Cape Town Sweater Dress that I realized what I was missing.

Yes, I’m talking about this sassy, statement piece that makes you feel like wonder woman but in a much more stylish and elegant way. Not to mention, this dress is currently on sale for $25 and comes in black and grey. Who else is a lover of monochromatic dresses? (They go with everything!)

My favorite part about this dress is, of course, the cape/hidden armholes that resemble a shawl until people realize it’s a dress! The dress is 100% acrylic so it keeps you cozy on winter days. The turtleneck is also a great feature of this dress to provide additional warmth. I also like to layer a sweater or long sleeve shirt underneath if it’s an exceptionally chilly day.

This dress is so versatile in style that it can easily be worn with heels, boots or flats. In this look, I paired my dress with a pair of Chinese Laundry ankle boots. These are my favorite boots to date given the extra height of the heel and the classic yet feminine style.

Accessorizing is also easy to do with this dress; I am a minimalist so one or two jewelry pieces often do the trick for me, but it’s totally personal preference! A long statement necklace would also look great with this dress! I opted for my Cluse La Roche Gold White Marble Black watch in this look that compliments my black shoes nicely. For earrings, I went a little bold with a pair of gold hoops from Nordstrom that are one of my favorite ways to make a subtle and stylish statement in a look.

I highly encourage trying out styles that inspire you and are unique to the other items in your wardrobe, you’ll often be happily surprised when you try something new and it gives you a fun challenge for styling!
