I still can't quite believe it's already November but I'm not complaining! November is a month I love because it is Tristan's birthday (so I get to spoil him all month - I believe in birthday months!), full of family and lots of holiday prepping! The last couple of weeks I've been leaning on layers and fun accessories to combat the darker, colder weather and one of the accessories I can't wait to share in today's blog post is my new favorite hat: the Brixton Fiddler Fisherman Cap.

I'd been eyeing this hat for months prior to pulling the trigger and making the $42 purchase online at Nordstrom (talk about a steal!) The newsboy cap is a popular trend of the moment but one I have seen go the distance - in fact, I owned two of these hats long ago in 9th grade but donated them to Goodwill a few years back and I'm really regretting it! I'm a huge fan of hats in the (almost) winter months because it's a great way to keep my head warm, hide my 7-week hair root grow-out and show off a trend I hope I can see through the many seasons ahead. I decided to purchase the cap in black since it went with more of my wardrobe and "everyday" wear. It also has the best detailing with the rope and buttons on either side and it has a slight pouf for volume. I've worn this hat with a t-shirt and pair of boyfriend jeans, velvet, a turtleneck and now, tweed! It's so versatile!

*ALSO:  this cap is pretty snug so I recommend ordering your size or one size up!

I paired my hat with my tweed Zara dress I plan on wearing all holiday season! I spotted this dress at the start of fall and couldn't say no. I was on a mission to find a tweed skirt and ended up buying this dress because of the patch pockets, back zipper and overall length and 3/4 length sleeves! It's the perfect dress to dress up with a pair of heels or dress down with a pair of flats. Also, did I mention it is less than $50? In this outfit, I'm sharing one of my other favorite ways to layer up on cold, fall days and that's wearing my tall ankle socks from LOFT with my Chinese Laundry boots!

My favorite bag to use when I'm on the go is my cream Oliver Bilou crossbody handbag - it is the perfect size for hauling all of my essentials! Also, I just can't stop swooning over the rose gold statement handles.

This entire outfit embraces some of my favorite trends of the season and is an outfit I have worn to work, on the weekends at brunch and on the go when I'm running errands! What are some trends you are loving this month?
