Monochrome + Metallics | Look Two
No matter the season, I'll always gravitate toward hues of monochrome. In the summer, it's fun to play with neutral shades and play up accessories or other tones to give an outfit some vibrance. My favorite go-to lately when it comes to wearing a monochromatic look? Metallics.
In my recent collaboration with Seattle-based photographer, Michele Equitz, I'm highlighting my favorite ways to mix and match monochrome with metallic. In my first look, my outfit is a mixture of black, white and accents of metallic. However, in this second look I'm just focused on rocking an all-white look with metallic accessories. This outfit embraces femininity in the styling and accessorizing and is the perfect outfit for work or dressier date night! It's classy, youthful and provides a little edge with the metallic flare. In this second look, I'm wearing my fitted, skater flare dress from Nordstrom. I love the way this dress fits and how it can go with everything!
For accessorizing, I am wearing a chunky statement necklace from Forever21. I love the gold and silver metallic accents -- a necklace this bold looks great against simplicity; hence, the white dress I'm wearing.
To accent the bold, metallic jewelry, I'm wearing my Zara lace-up oxfords -- I'm in love with these shoes! In fact, if they weren't so much of a "statement piece" I'd wear them everyday if I could. For additional metallic detailing, I'm wearing my Nordstrom Rack rose gold sunglasses. The beauty of mixing and matching metallics is no matter if its silver, gold, rose gold or copper, if styled subtly yet correctly, they are such a compliment to one another!
Because I have this thing with giant bags that have to carry all of my must-haves, this Rebecca Minkoff cross body is a life saver! It's the perfect size to fit all of my daily items when I go to work and because it is white with gold accents, it goes with everything I wear! You can never go wrong with a white handbag -- however, take caution in messy foods, drinks and grease! I recently discovered handbag wipes to remove stains, grease and marks and it is the best.
Monochrome and metallics are a fabulous go-to when you want to dress up and feel stylish. It's become a weekly staple of mine in the spring and summer.
