Florals and Stripes with The Modern Mosaic | Look Two

I’ve been in such a mix and match phase right now when it comes to fashion lately, it’s been so fun to reflect back on this styled collaborative shoot I did with fellow Seattle blogger McKenna Moe of The Modern Mosaic and Seattle photographer KNDM Co.

In this collaboration, (as seen in our first look) Mckenna and I are talking about how to integrate florals AND stripes into various outfits. We both love rocking florals and stripes separately but for this collaboration, we thought, why not have fun with these two bold patterns and put them together! Our styles, while unique to us, just so happened to compliment each other perfectly during our shoot.

In our second looks for this shoot, we wanted to dress things up a bit from our first look that was more casual/everyday-wear. We also wanted to show more integration of pattern-play itself. In these looks, we decided to keep one of the patterns monochromatic (in our case, stripes) to compliment and tie in our floral patterns, which just so happened to have more monochromatic tones as well. These outfits are so versatile in that they can pass off as casual during the day or dressy enough for date night or a night out.

The key to mixing patterns? Have fun with it. Playing with bold florals and stripes is a must for the summer, since this is the time of year to experiment with layers and have fun with print!
