2016, a year in review
2016 was quite the year and as it comes to a close I thought I’d do a year in summary (if possible) of my highlights, challenges and accomplishments! Here’s to an amazing year filled with travel, amazing people and incredible memories.
To start off the new year, I’ll be tackling a creative project that’s been in the works for months, working on some amazing blog content I can’t wait to share and continuing to push myself as a creative, freelancer and girl boss. Cheers to you, 2017!
JANUARY 2016: I rang in the New Year with my boyfriend Tristan and a group of our wonderful friends, I learned how to ski for the very first time and I said goodbye to my childhood home as my parents made the move for Colorado.
FEBRUARY 2016: I turned 24-years old, I got more in touch with the local creative community, I learned I can't keep succulents alive and I explored more of this beautiful place I get to call my home!
MARCH 2016: I visited Colorado for the first time to see my parents' new digs, I attended my first blogger workshop and reevaluated how I wanted to approach blogging in 2016, I road tripped the Oregon Coast with Tristan and I learned the importance of weekend brunch.
APRIL 2016: I tackled a challenging and creative personal project with one of my best friends, I visited my old college stomping grounds, I collaborated with local bloggers (and friends) and connected with my favorite creatives to celebrate accomplishments and personal growth.
MAY 2016: I saw Beyonce in concert, I became more active in the blogging community and attended more blogging events, I was introduced to the pink wall at Pike Place Market and I brought my personal style and aesthetic to the forefront for my blog West Coast Aesthetic.
JUNE 2016: I collaborated with local blogger babes and creatives to host a summer blog workshop, I discovered more favorite local eateries and happy hours, I traveled to San Francisco and I rebranded my freelance business Allison Wagner Design.
JULY 2016: I celebrated one whole year of being with my guy, I visited (and wine tasted) my way through Whidbey Island with my best friend, I celebrated my bestie's birthday over margarita flavored shots and collaborated with inspiring brands and creatives.
AUGUST 2016: I attended beautiful summer weddings with my favorite dance floor partner and wedding date, I visited Colorado with my favorite dance floor partner and wedding date, I co-hosted my very first blog workshop with some amazing girl bosses and I soaked in views of Seattle from new sights.
SEPTEMBER 2016: I got to opt outside all month long in the sunshine, I got to soak in a long weekend with the best of friends in Lake Chelan, I visited one of my favorite cities in the world: Los Angeles and I got to integrate my boyfriend into some fun collaborations for the blog!
OCTOBER 2016: I went camping with my favorite person to adventure with, I visited New York City for the first time and fell in love, I swooned over the Saint Laurent exhibit at SAM and I got to immerse one of my best friends into the blogging world.
NOVEMBER 2016: I (re)launched a new blog site for West Coast Aesthetic, I celebrated my favorite human's 26th birthday, I crashed our last wedding of the year in Denver as Tristan's +1 and I pushed myself to collaborate with brands and creatives that inspire and empower me.
DECEMBER 2016: I successfully threw my mom a surprise 60th birthday party, I crashed my friends' holiday parties, I maintained beloved holiday traditions and I spent my first Christmas in Colorado with my amazing family and pups.
