The accessory of winter: Poms

The pom, a hot trend and go-to accessory for displaying on handbags, key chains and in winter outfits. The larger and more obnoxious the faux fur pom, the better. When poms started populating the handbag scene this fall I was intrigued -- I loved how such a simply accessory could spruce up a beloved accessory like a handbag in such a fun and feminine way.
My first pom purchase was in the form of a key chain from Nordstrom. I wanted something that would stand out and prevent me from misplacing my keys. I still get a chuckle when I have to hand my keychain to a valet.
When I stopped into Express and spotted this color block pom beanie I was in love. A practical winter accessory that's stylish, talk about a score! I love the mixed faux fur pom and how it makes a statement in any outfit I pair it with.
In this outfit, I decided to embrace knits and the rich burgundy shades (the only form of holiday red I enjoy wearing this time of year). My braided sweater from Nordstrom is one of my favorites because of it's statement detailing in the front. Thrown over the top of my Forever21 burgundy mini skirt, it's instantly dressed up. My metallic-accented tights worn underneath also contribute to a holiday-appropriate outfit all while keeping me warm on chilly winter days.
For accessorizing, I'm wearing my Kendra Scott Elisa Gold Pendant Necklace. I love the fact this necklace is so simple yet still makes a statement. Whether you want to wear it over a sweater or layered with other necklaces, it still stands out. My Kate Spade crossbody compliments the warmer colors of my outfit and is the perfect "special occasion" handbag due to its size (not too heavy but still large enough to fit everything you need).
This entire winter look is all about embracing trends (for me, it's revolving around the pom) and other favorite, cozy staples that create a cohesive yet stylish outfit for the holiday season!
