Kicks & Prints: Shades of Grey
I am so excited to be back and collaborating with the oh so talented and lovely Seattle-based photographer Kamrin Dishman of KNDM Co. This collaboration Kicks & Prints was inspired by my love for pairing the sporty athletic shoe trend with everyday looks to make the outfit more casual and comfortable yet stylish. Tennis shoes aren't just for working out, they have become an everyday accessory and can really make an outfit. My favorite way to mix athletic shoes is with bold prints, graphic tees and statement pieces to make the overall outfit bold. The first look of my collaboration series, Shades of Grey embraces my love for mixing up shades of one specific color in an outfit paired with my new favorite pair of Nike kicks.
These Nikes caught my eye from Famous Footwear because of the metallic grey color that can really go with anything since it is a pretty neutral color. The shoe itself has a lot of arch support which is extremely refreshing when you're wearing flat sandals everyday in the summer. I decided to make this look more sporty-casual by pairing my shoes with a flowy asymmetrical grey t-shirt dress from Forever 21 that has nice flow in the back and is shorter in the front to draw more attention to the leg and shoe. To add a pop of print that tied in with the grey of the shoe, I threw over my favorite button-up top from Nordstrom. I love the tie dye fade it has going and it also is longer and flowy to match my dress. For accessorizing, I wanted some layers to add some girly hints to the outfit. I love my silver tooth necklace from Frankie Boutique in Gig Harbor, Washington that really makes for a great statement piece. I also paired my longer necklace with my shorter silver eye Moorea Seal necklace that adds a dainty touch to my look.
This look is a great weekend outfit and is comfortable for walking, exploring and running errands. I love sporting a look that is on trend all while remaining fairly casual -- the best of both worlds!
