Feminine & Denim: Shades of Blue

My final look, Shades of Blue from my FEMININE & DENIM photo and style collaboration with Kamrin Dishman of KNDM Co. embraces the mood of a spring day in Seattle. I wake up to cloudy skies, even rain, when within hours the clouds have burned off to a bright blue sky day with warm (yes, actually warm) sunshine. It's the best way to get me in the mood for summer in the Pacific Northwest. While I have been preaching on my love for layers in several of these looks from this collaboration, this look is a bit more risky to wear during the spring in Washington...it's best suited for a warmer day.

My look does have some layer to it with the focus primarily being on the denim pullover shirt that feels like a silky pajama top. I found this top from a small boutique located in Gig Harbor called Frankie (you can find more info about their store on Instagram: @frankieboutique). I love how light the top is and I also love the medium-darker wash! It's a great neutral for any outfit but ties in the colors of my blue/white look together well.

I love outfits with subtle pops of pattern, in this look, I'm sporting two types of pattern: white embroidered lace floral print on my white shorts courtesy of Nordstrom. These shorts go with everything and add the perfect hint of feminine flare. The additional subtle pattern in my look is from my white and blue polka dot flouncy tank top from GAP that compliments the blue in my denim pullover. Since this outfit is more feminine and meant for warmer weather days, I'm rocking my white ankle strap sandals from Forever 21. These sandals were a great find! I love neutral colored sandals since they go with everything and I love an ankle strap sandal because of the support.

For accessorizing this fairly neutral outfit, I went with bolder accessories. I am sporting my new favorite nude floppy hat from Nordstrom that is a nice touch to any outfit with lots of creams, whites, denims and pastels. It also isn't made out of a super heavy fabric so you won't get overheated wearing it on sunny days. Statement jewelry is always a great way to accessorize. Instead of a bold necklace or bangle set, I went with a bold turquoise ring from The Nordstrom Rack. Turquoise is my favorite shade of blue and I love how this ring simply ties in another blue hue to my overall look.

While this is my last look from my FEMININE & DENIM photo and style series, there will be more collaborations in the works in the near future! So keep checking back for more soon.
