Home Sweet Home

It's official people! I'm now a resident of Seattle! I moved into my new home this past weekend and have been slowly but surely getting settled into my new life in Ballard. Everyday I'm discovering how neat this town is to live in!

I spent my first two days of the weekend getting moved in, unpacked and decorating my bachelorette pad. Getting settled in has been effortless thus far since I had a pretty specific idea of what I wanted the general aesthetic of my home to look like. When I first signed my lease I started collecting home decor and design inspiration. My style is very minimal, comfortable, feminine and modern. Here are some of my findings that influenced how my home looks now:

My apartment has a very industrial and modern feel to it which inspired me to bring out the neutral tones that complimented the stainless steel appliances, darker hard wood floors and cabinetry as well as the dove grey accent wall I have painted in my living room. My main color palette for my home revolved around soft grey, white, black and sporadic color usage through accessorizing.

Being a graphic designer and a minimalist, my home encompasses my personal style all while showing off my favorite items in subtle ways. My favorite part of my home is my living room, the most commonly used space in a home. I wanted this room to feel comfortable, conversational and functional for the purposes of relaxing, talking with friends, using my bar cart, reading a book or watching television.

Here are some of my favorite highlights of my living room space:
