Black & Bold: Spring hues
Sharing my last of my BLACK & BOLD photo and collaboration series with Kamrin Dishman of KNDM Co, but certainly not the last of our collaborations together! This series aims to inspire how to showcase a monochromatic wardrobe in the spring. And my last look truly embraces the essence of how these colors can stand out during the season.
In my final look of the series I'm wearing my new favorite statement piece: a black jumpsuit courtesy of Nordstrom. I was skeptical for so long about owning a jumpsuit because I thought it would make me look stocky since I'm short (5'2). I decided to go for a looser fitting style with cuffs a little above the ankles so it isn't too long. Although I love the tighter fitting jumpsuit styles for night-out looks, I do love the casual fit of my jumpsuit allowing it to be versatile when it comes to pairing it with shoes and accessories. I also love this jumpsuit because of its metallic accents as well as its adjustable/tied waistband to make the outfit look like separates or a full length jumpsuit depending on how you tie it.
I paired my outfit with a sporty chevron zip-up jacket also from Nordstrom to provide the look with some pattern and a bold one at that. I wanted to keep the accessories minimalistic but still making a statement so I went with my beautiful silver curve necklace that I was gifted for my birthday -- from one of my favorite local stores in Gig Harbor called Frankie. I went simple with the shoes, my black zip up ankle boots from H&M to keep the outfit more classy instead of overly casual. As an accent accessory to compliment the metallics of the outfit, I am sporting my skull wristlet that's useful if you're grabbing a quick lunch or are going to the bars and don't want to haul a purse around. I found this wristlet at Target and it's been one of my favorites for kicking an outfit up a notch. Not to mention, I have an obsession with skulls.
