Black & Bold: Never Blend In
I'm so excited to share my second photo and style collaboration series BLACK & BOLD with my extremely talented friend and Seattle-based photographer Kamrin Dishman of KNDM Co.
I was inspired to create this series as I was picking out an outfit on a particularly sunny and warm Pacific Northwest day. I naturally gravitated to my monochromatic color palette...white, grey and black...the colors that take up the majority of my closet. Before telling myself no and forcing myself into feminine florals and spring pastels, I had a thought. Just because spring is approaching does not mean you can't make a bold statement in your monochromatic wardrobe. In fact, you'll most likely make more of a bold impression since most people tend to settle for the trending floral prints, hues of spring and feminine accessories. It's time to make your spring look more edgy! And I'm showing off just how to do it.
In my first look of the series I'm wearing a casual/weekend chic look with animal print touches. I'm sporting my favorite pair of black jogger pants courtesy of Target, a bold graphic leopard cropped pullover sweatshirt from Nordstrom, paired with my new (and favorite) cream embossed snake skin slip ons from H&M. To add a little color to my monochromatic spring look, I wore my favorite magenta and metallic statement necklace (as seen in my Pop of Color blog post) from Nordstrom.
